Job Title: Application Engineer

Job Summary:

The Talent IT Service Delivery team manages the end-to-end delivery of programs and projects to develop and maintain global applications within the Talent IT landscape. The Senior Developer role is part of the Solution Delivery pillar, focusing on developing and testing solutions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) using Neo and Cloud Foundry environments to support Talent IT.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Develop and deliver technical systems in collaboration with the Application Engineer Team Lead.
• Ensure adherence to architectural standards, global guidelines, and usability standards.
• Participate in the development and review of SDLC documentation, including WBS, SDD, and SAD.
• Support and document project transitions to production.
• Follow application engineering methodologies, standards, and code reviews.
• Provide feedback on engineering practices and standards.
• Identify potential project issues and communicate with leadership for remediation.
• Minimize technical risks on projects.
• Deliver code and documentation for assigned projects.
• Translate requirements and architecture into detailed designs.
• Assess contractor capabilities.
• Anticipate and resolve project issues proactively.
• Apply judgment to engineering practices considering project-specific requirements.

Analytical-Decision Making Responsibilities:

• Hold the Service Delivery team accountable.
• Work within a matrix organization, balancing service line needs and firm initiatives.
• Prioritize relationships, negotiate with customers, and overcome obstacles.
• Manage and resolve complex issues and project risks.
• Demonstrate knowledge of EY principles, including coaching and mentoring.
• Lead by example to foster an open, honest, and collaborative team environment.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

• Experience developing applications on SAP BTP (Neo & Cloud Foundry), leveraging SAP CAP, Node.js, and Java.
• Experience with SAP HANA Cloud and HANA 2.0 for database modeling and optimization.
• Design and build custom extensions for SAP SuccessFactors using SAP BTP and SDK.
• Integrate SuccessFactors with external systems via APIs and MDF.
• Implement security protocols such as OAuth2, SAML, JWT.
• Maintain SAP security best practices and develop S/4HANA extensions using Fiori/UI5.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and understand the IT lifecycle.
• Possess good business acumen, negotiation skills, and customer orientation.
• Develop strategic plans and translate them into actionable roadmaps.
• Exhibit leadership in financial and people management.
• Build and maintain productive customer relationships.
• Adapt to shifting priorities and rapid change.
• Possess business analysis experience and basic data modeling understanding.

Supervision Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with EY ITSD, AMS Lead, and TCS AMS team daily.
• Liaise with the Business for the respective portfolio/application.

Other Requirements:

Education:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

• 5-8 years in SAP BTP (Neo & Cloud Foundry).
• 3+ years with SAP HANA Cloud and HANA 2.0 environments.
• Experience in customer service and business management roles.
• Experience in professional services industry preferred.

Certification Requirements:

• SAP HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, or SuccessFactors certifications.
