Job summary

Jackola Engineering & Architecture, PC is seeking an experienced Architect to join our Bozeman team and help lead the design, technical delivery, and growth of our architectural practice. You will guide projects from concept through construction while mentoring staff and building client relationships within our community.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in architecture or higher.
  • 10+ years of professional experience; 15+ preferred.
  • Licensed Architect with active registration. NCARB certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading architectural projects from concept through construction.
  • Strong design and technical expertise with a commitment to delivering high-quality projects.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Thorough understanding of the International Building Code (IBC), accessibility requirements, and related regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Strategic thinker with the flexibility to adapt to changing project and business needs.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM workflows with a strong understanding of collaborative project delivery.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Bluebeam preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor architectural staff throughout project planning, design, documentation, and construction phases.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, professional growth, and design excellence.
  • Guide project teams through complex design challenges while ensuring projects meet budget, schedule, and client expectations.
  • Serve as a technical and design resource for project teams, consultants, and clients.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of construction documents, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Ensure project deliverables reflect sound design principles, technical accuracy, quality standards, and applicable code requirements.
  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders.
  • Participate in business development efforts, including proposals, project interviews, and client relationship management.
  • Support the long-term success and growth of the architectural studio through leadership, mentorship, and strategic planning.
