About the role :

The Liquid Quality Assurance Supervisor will help oversee best in class quality management systems (QMS) and Food Safety systems for the liquid department (including liquor and chocolate production) at Barry Callebaut’s second largest manufacturing site. He/she will drive compliance to quality programs, regional/global strategic initiatives and ensure industry standards for food safety systems are implemented and effective.

Key responsibilities include :

Provides strong and visible quality leadership on the factory floor in the liquor and liquid departments.

Oversees the implementation and sustainability of quality management systems and food safety systems in the liquid department.

Plans, manages, organizes and controls the different activities related to Quality assurance and supports daily with problem resolutions in the liquid department.

Oversees quality investigations in the liquid department.

Participates in Gemba Walks / Team boards/ and manages Quality KPIS for liquid department.

Engaged in new product introductions and aware of Product Committee discussions for liquid items.

Supports foreign material Toolbox/CI projects in liquid department.

Performs hold and release investigation review and disposition for liquid department.

Work on Floor in liquid department with Operators to train/coach explain QA expectations.

Owns customer inquiry & investigations.

Manage Plant Investigations, Root Cause analysis and Risk Assessment, Corrective and Preventive Actions for customer complaints and trending.

Organizes customer sample requests/documents/testing.

Help maintain product safety by adopting behaviors that meet defined requirements of Barry Callebaut, Customers and Regulatory bodies.

About you :

3-5 years’ experience as a Quality Coordinator or similar experience.

Food Science Degree or equivalent

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality with formal training in HACCP and FormalGlobal Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) food safety standards, preferably FSSC22000.

Experience with large scale food manufacturing facilities with multiple lines, product categories and shifts.

Bilingual (English and French) verbal and written communication skills

Extensive knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Pathogen Environmental Monitoring and Facility/Equipment Design

Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) with knowledge of FSMA preferred.

Formal certification in quality management system auditing (ASQ certification in auditing a plus)

Sound understanding of food safety regulations, experience with allergen management required.

Computer software skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. SAP is a plus.
