Superstar Sports Physical Therapist (Part-Time)

Are you a physical therapist and runner who would love to help runners and other active individuals stay healthy as they work towards their ambitious goals?

FLASH Momentum in West Chester, PA, began as a clinic catering to the injuries of runners and other active individuals but has quickly evolved into much more. Our multiple projects and initiatives will ultimately change running itself and the active lifestyles of many - we are a company that is focused on helping individuals in our community and beyond move quickly towards their goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A licensed Physical Therapist with experience working in the fields of orthopedics and/or sports physical therapy;
  • Direct Access Certified in PA or willing to become Direct Access Certified in PA;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience;
  • A running background and a love for running and other sports;
  • Experience working with tennis, platform tennis (paddle), pickleball, and/or golf players is preferred;
  • An outgoing, persuasive, and personable individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment;
  • Some evening availability necessary;
  • Someone who embraces flexibility and can adapt to the dynamic needs of our growing practice.

This role involves helping accelerate the injury (and workout) recovery of runners and other active individuals while teaching them how to prevent future injuries. It requires a combination of technical expertise, communication skills, and motivational strategies to provide effective care and achieve the best results for patients and clients.

As a part-time Sports Physical Therapist, you will:

  • Provide personalized treatment plans to patients and clients across a variety of needs, from injury recovery to ongoing wellness.
  • Work in a collaborative and supportive environment that values your expertise and creativity.
  • Engage directly with a diverse range of patients/clients, building trust and providing exceptional care.
  • Use innovative techniques to deliver effective and cutting-edge therapies.

The specific tasks include:

  • Dry Needling: Performing dry needling techniques to alleviate pain and improve movement patterns.
  • Manual Therapy Techniques: Providing manual therapy techniques to reduce pain and improve movement patterns.
  • Exercise Prescription and Supervision: Designing and implementing customized exercise programs tailored to the patient’s needs and progress.
  • Monitoring patients’ technique to ensure exercises are performed safely and effectively.
  • Sports Biomechanical Analysis: Conducting gait analyses of runners to determine any contributing factors to injury, make appropriate footwear recommendations, and/or to further improve running biomechanics.
  • Discussing the influence of biomechanics with patients and clients as it relates to their particular sport/activity and working in collaboration with any coaches.
  • Communication with Patients/Clients and any Coaches or Parents: E-mailing or texting with patients in between sessions as needed to optimize their recovery and/or boost their progress towards their goals.
  • Ensuring that all involved parties (coaches, parents, etc.) are informed and on the same page throughout the recovery process.
  • Patient/Client Relationship Building: Maintaining current and helping build new patient relationships.
  • Return-to-Activity Testing and Specific Activity Training Design: Testing patient readiness for returning to desired activity and designing personalized return-to-activity regimens that help patients achieve their specific event goals.
  • Developing strength training and/or specific activity training programs for clients.
