Job description

We are seeking a Lead Carpenter / Case Setter with responsibilities primarily involving refrigerated cases, installing new refrigerated cases, demoing walk-in coolers, installing walk-in coolers, and setting up mechanical equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, uncrate, and inspect Refrigerated cases / Walk-in coolers / Rack Systems / Conventional Units.
  • Stage offloaded equipment for installation.
  • Demo of old Walk-in boxes/ Cases and Mechanical Systems.
  • Read Blueprints.
  • Verifies conformance of materials to stock list and drawings.
  • Checks the accuracy of work using precision measuring instruments.
  • Works with local branch Service and Construction Managers to ensure project productivity and manage schedules.
  • Fabricate Unistrut hangers and supports.
  • Receive, uncrate and properly hang evaporator coils, install thermostatic expansion valves.
  • Install PVC drainpipe.
  • Physically able to climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift objects up to fifty pounds.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Experience leading others in the workplace
  • Experience working individually and as part of a diverse team.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills and strong relationships with customers, management, crew, and team.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience is required
  • Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints on refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Experience and proficient knowledge of supermarket refrigeration.
  • Good driving record.
  • Travel, overnight, and overtime work as needed.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize your work schedule and the work schedules of others on a short-term basis
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Sheet metal experience is a plus
