The Store Manager directly supervises assistant managers, training coordinators, and staff at the unit level. The Store Manager conducts business daily as if acting as an individual owner of his/her particular shop. Support from the area manager is given when needed to facilitate alignment of goals with those of the overall company; however, the Store Manager largely dictates the specific shop leadership. Within that scope fall many key functions such as budgeting, staffing, training, community involvement, inventory control, labor control, etc.

  • Responds to requests from various head office departments.
  • Takes the lead role in managing recruitment, selection, placement, training, development, and HR plans.
  • Engages in community-generating business and goodwill activities.
  • Investigates and responds directly to employee relations and customer complaints that have the potential for a significant impact on the business.
  • Plans and prioritizes tasks effectively.
  • Operates within the guidelines of the law.
  • Adapts to new procedures, standards, and changes as directed by the company or legislation.
  • Conducts in-house appraisals in a timely fashion, leading to personnel development plans for all employees.
  • Maintains professional conduct, especially when in the public eye.
  • Refers all media inquiries to the Area Manager/Marketing Director.
  • Gets to know customers' profiles and the target market, and actively pursues business opportunities.
  • Is fully flexible regarding working hours, including weekends and nights.
  • Meets set targets regarding food costs, labour costs, customer count, QSC Audit, mystery shopper, and pizza audit scores.
Leadership

Supervises others and efficiently coordinates their work. Delegates tasks appropriately. Remains in control in difficult situations, providing clear direction and authority. Leads by example and is assertive. Communicates restaurant goals and a motivating vision, linking individual performance to overall restaurant success. Promotes quality food, systems, and service, and is dedicated to customer satisfaction, inspiring this in staff and management alike.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Fast-paced, “non-stop” environment. Physically demanding at times due to business requirements, including high volume, staffing levels, and preparedness for demands. Prolonged periods without sitting may be necessary.

INTEGRITY

Communicates openly and honestly, acting consistently with words. Solicits feedback and admits mistakes, taking corrective actions. Upholds honesty and forthrightness even in difficult situations.
