Position Summary
The Construction Superintendent – Wastewater is a member of the heavy civil/wastewater operations team responsible for planning and leading field operations to meet project expectations and production requirements. This position supervises field foremen and collaborates with field engineering staff and other project personnel to ensure the successful delivery of wastewater projects.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise wastewater projects to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Schedule and direct work crews and foremen to achieve production goals
- Prepare work plans, hazard analyses, and safety assessments for assigned activities
- Monitor work progress, quality, and adherence to safety and productivity standards
- Manage and track project costs and resources, including equipment and subcontractors
- Perform daily inspections of ongoing work and resolve issues that arise in the field
- Support quality control efforts and ensure work meets design and performance standards
- Continuously evaluate processes to improve productivity, safety, and quality
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of five years of experience as a superintendent on wastewater projects
- Experience managing medium to large projects
- Strong ability to read and interpret wastewater drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of heavy civil/wastewater construction and engineering principles and practices
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent organization and time‑management skills
- Strong prioritization and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Must be capable, licensed, and approved to drive a company pick‑up truck or similar vehicle to work sites, offices, and other locations as required
- Must be able to climb up and down ladders and scaffolding to gain access to work and walk on uneven surfaces throughout construction sites
