Job summary

Peak Construction Group is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead the construction process on large-scale industrial and commercial projects. You will plan, schedule, organize, direct, and control on-site activities to meet design, budget, and schedule goals.

The role requires rotating travel across Canada and the US, with emphasis on large projects such as food processing, distribution, and warehouse facilities. Strong safety leadership and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in construction site management.
  • Ability to travel within the country.
  • Dual US citizenship is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Field and site management of the project(s) and all project activities.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
  • Lead site meetings, maintain clear communication, and resolve conflicts or challenges as they arise.
  • Work closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to meet project requirements.
  • Manage and motivate site crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to align with project timelines and standards.
  • Manage resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local building codes and regulations.

Role: The Superintendent leads the construction process for large-scale industrial and commercial projects, ensuring all activities align with the established design, budget, and schedule. This role involves planning, scheduling, organizing, directing, and controlling all on-site construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large industrial or commercial building projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

This role requires rotating travel across Canada, primarily in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario.

Who You Are: You have at least 10 years of related or relevant experience as a Superintendent. Speciï¬c project experience shouldâinclude food processing, distribution, and warehouse facilities with aggressive schedules. Experience in site development of sites between 15 and 100 acres and working in tight urbanâcore environments would also be relevant to this role.

You have high standards for safety and the well-being of all site workers. You have excellent communication skillsâand work productively with others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local building codes and regulations.
Required Experience And Qualiï¬cations
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in construction site management
  • Skilled Trade Certiï¬cation preferred
  • Ability to travel within the country
  • Ability to travel to US (dual citizenship) is an asset
Required Skills And Knowledge
  • Proï¬cient in Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong delegation skills with the ability to set expectations and monitor progress.
  • Good physical condition and stamina.
