Job summary

Kiewit in Los Angeles leads infrastructure and water projects in the Southern California District, seeking a Superintendent to oversee civil work, manage budgets, schedules and teams. The role focuses on safety, quality, and on-time delivery across complex projects.

Relocation assistance and per diem are available; candidates will coordinate with field supervision and district leadership to drive performance and growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent/leadership capacity.
• Associated or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, drawings and other documents.
• Ability to learn and apply Kiewit's policies, procedures and software programs.
• Strong organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration experience.
• Ability to access all areas on a construction project site.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate all civil activities on assigned projects.
• Supervise and mentor civil crews, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Ensure all mechanical work meets project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, adhering to safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor and control project costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials, and approve monthly job cost updates.
• Identify and resolve any mechanical issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing concerns and providing regular project updates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders.
• Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
• Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management).
• Mentor and help to grow fellow Kiewit staff through performance evaluations.

Base Compensation: $115,000/yr - $120,000/yr
