Job summary

Build People client, a well‑established Commercial General Contractor in the Dallas–Fort Worth market, seeks an experienced Superintendent to lead day‑to‑day field operations on retail TI and commercial renovation projects. You will coordinate subs, maintain schedules, enforce safety and quality, review plans for field conflicts, and liaise with clients and architects to keep projects on time and within budget.

OSHA 30 preferred; Procore/Bluebeam/PlanGrid a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience with TI background.
• Experience as a Superintendent for a General Contractor.
• Experience delivering retail TI, interiors, restaurant, or shopping centers.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing and MEP coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong subcontractor management and scheduling skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily coordination meetings and maintain strong communication with project teams.

• Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain schedule, quality, and client expectations.
• Review plans and specifications and identify potential field conflicts.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure projects meet codes and requirements.
• Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety and OSHA compliance.
• Manage punch lists, inspections, closeout, and turnover.
• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Proactively identify issues and develop solutions to keep projects moving.

Our client is a well-established Commercial General Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality retail and commercial construction projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth market.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they are looking to add an experienced Superintendent to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on construction professional who enjoys the pace and variety of retail tenant improvement (TI) work and wants to join a GC with a strong local presence and long‑term project pipeline.

The Role

As Superintendent, you will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day field operations of retail tenant improvement and commercial renovation projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Projects will typically involve fast‑track retail build‑outs, renovations, remodels, and tenant improvements within occupied or operational environments.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience working as a Superintendent for a General Contractor.
• Experience delivering retail tenant improvement, commercial interiors, restaurant, shopping center, or similar projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and MEP coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong subcontractor management and scheduling skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar construction technology is a plus.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
