Job description

We are searching for a detail-oriented Superintendent with 5-10 years’ experience in commercial construction interior tenant fit-outs. The Superintendent directs field staff, subcontractors, materials deliveries, and activities necessary to successfully complete a project of varying complexity to produce a quality product on time, within the project budget, complying with safety standards and exceeding customers’ expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in developing a project mobilization plan and reviews the plans and specs for scope and constructability
  • Develops, monitors, and executes the most efficient means, methods, and techniques of performing work in coordination with the internal project management team which consists of a Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager
  • Develops and maintains harmonious relations with owner representatives, subcontractors, vendors, and various jurisdictional inspectors
  • Familiarity with all trades associated with interior commercial construction including demolition, rough carpentry, millwork, framing and GWB, tile, flooring, paint, and MEP trades
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a clean and well‑organized construction project
  • Understands and has the relative experience to produce high quality construction work that is completed within the contractual time allotted for that work
  • Coordinates field activities of subcontractors and suppliers and enforces safety policies and procedures for everyone on the worksite
  • Produces accurate project documentation to include two‑week look‑ahead schedules, as‑built drawings, and daily construction reports
  • Seeks out ways to improve the company’s processes and exceed the customer’s expectations
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the field personnel and subcontractors on the work‑site.
Qualifications
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of project management software programs
  • Broad understanding of industry
  • Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
  • Good math/accounting skills
  • Some supervisory experience
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications

Education And/or Experience
  • Minimum 5 or more years of industry experience
