Lambert’s Cable is hiring an Underground Construction Superintendent in Kinston, NC to oversee multiple crews on telecom underground projects. The role focuses on productivity, quality, and coordinating with supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction and safety compliance.

The position requires prior supervisory experience, strong planning skills, and proficiency with project management and office software. Field work, travel may be required, and competitive benefits accompany this role.

• Previous supervisor experience required.
• Knowledge of quality processes and safety programs.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos and short correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures such as area and distance.
• Ability to apply reasoning to follow written or diagram instructions.
• Knowledge of proper installation processes.
• Proficiency with Internet, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinates jobs with outside services and management.
• Organizes equipment, material and labor to complete projects timely.
• Verifies accuracy of locates, materials and billings.
• Calls in or emails locates as needed.
• Completes change orders and routes information to contracting and billing teams.
• Monitors production reports.
• Completes as-builts and unit tab sheets.
• Manages redlining processes.
• Supports Supervisors and Foreman on safety policies and procedures.
• Assists in managing and retaining employees.
• Handles DOT paperwork if required.
• Reviews and approves employee time-cards.
• Manages materials using spreadsheets.
• All other duties as assigned.

In addition, this position coordinates with the Supervisor or Outside Plant Manager to ensure customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do

• Coordinates jobs with outside services, such as subcontractors, and management
• Organizes equipment, material and labor to complete project in a timely manner
• Verifies accuracy of locates, materials, and billings
• Calls in or emails locates as needed
• Completes change orders, following procedures, including passing information on to contract administrators and billing department
• Monitors production reports
• Completes final asbuilts and tab sheet of units placed
• Completes redlining process
• Supports Supervisors and Foreman to monitor and enforce all company and outside required safety policies and procedures
• Assists supervisors in the management and retention of new and existing employees
• Monitors and completes the necessary paperwork regarding employee accidents and injuries, in conjunction with the Safety Department
• Maintains and properly documents DOT paperwork if required
• Reviews for accuracy, approves, and submits employee time-cards for processing
• Manages materials using a spreadsheet
• All other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Previous supervisor experience required
• Knowledge of quality processes and safety programs
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, distance, proportions
• Ability to apply reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions that are written, spoken or provided as diagrams or prints
• Knowledge of proper installation processes
• Knowledge of Internet software, project management software, spreadsheet software and word processing software is required
• Must maintain a current DOT health card certificate
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Travel may be required
