Job summary

ColonialWebb is seeking a Superintendent for our Special Projects team in Richmond, VA. You will oversee change-outs, retrofits, and installations for complex projects, directing mechanics, apprentices and helpers on a day-to-day basis to meet contract and budget targets.

The role requires extensive supervisory experience, HVAC/plumbing system knowledge, and OSHA 30-hour certification. You will use Procore, BIM and Teams to manage project documentation and safety programs.

Qualifications

  • Possess at least 7 years of industry experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of International Codes and HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand project documents in English.
  • Strong problem-solving, administrative and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee change-outs, retrofits and installations for complex projects.
  • Supervise day-to-day work activities of mechanics, apprentices and helpers.
  • Ensure services align with contractual agreements and budget objectives.
  • Interpret specifications and blueprints as needed for installation work.
  • Maintain safety policies, conduct toolbox talks and site inspections.
  • Monitor job costs and drive cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate and schedule material and equipment deliveries to meet schedule.
  • Lead performance reviews and support career growth for field staff.

The primary responsibility of the Superintendent is to oversee change-outs, retrofits, and installations for complex projects. This responsibility includes supervising day to day work activities of other mechanics, apprentices, and helpers.
