Comfortsystemsusaindiana is seeking a Superintendent for Mechanical and Plumbing in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves overseeing complex projects, supervising teams, and ensuring work quality. Ideal candidates should have at least 5 years of industry experience, strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, as well as OSHA safety regulations. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Superintendent (Mechanical and Plumbing)

ColonialWebb is looking to hire a Superintendent. The primary responsibility of the Superintendent is to oversee change-outs, retrofits, and installations for complex projects. This responsibility includes supervising day to day work activities of other mechanics, apprentices, and helpers. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that all services are performed in accordance with applicable contractual agreements and company budget objectives.

A day in the life

• Inspect work in process and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications
• Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned trade/craft workers
• Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for successful project completion
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of installation
• Review and release ColonialWebb Shop Drawings and Spool Drawings for timely field installation
• Teach, coach and guide teammates to ensure that they work safely and productively
• Ensure appropriate teammates are participating in hazard reporting; audit 5 x 5s and pre-task plans for compliance; hold teammates accountable for these actions
• Monitor and control manpower and tools to ensure efficient and effective use of resources and provide oversight of inventory activities
• Review weekly report of costs incurred; identify possible cost-saving opportunities

You should have

• At least 5 years’ industry experience, including supervisory experience
• Extensive knowledge of International Codes and general HVAC and plumbing systems
• OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred not required)
• Extensive experience in handling personnel issues
• Excellent mechanical, administrative and analytical skills
• Ability to use current technology (i.e., computer, tablet, smartphone, Microsoft Teams, Procore, BIM)
