Job summary

Enterprise Electrical seeks a Superintendent to oversee daily field operations on electrical construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, schedule fidelity, and quality standards. This role provides direct leadership to foremen, journeymen, apprentices, subcontractors, and field crews while coordinating with project managers, safety, QA/QC, and customers.

The Superintendent manages labor productivity and workflow across projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical training or construction management coursework preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• OSHA 30 preferred; state electrical license preferred where applicable.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily field operations for assigned electrical construction projects.
• Lead field workforce planning, manpower coordination, and crew assignments.
• Supervise Foremen and field personnel to ensure productivity, workmanship, and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate project execution with Project Managers, General Contractors, owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and scope requirements with field teams.
• Monitor labor productivity, installed quantities, project milestones, and schedule progress.
• Assist with project planning including sequencing, staffing forecasts, and site logistics coordination.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.

The Superintendent manages labor productivity, field execution, material coordination, schedule performance, and workforce planning across assigned projects or major project scopes. This position serves as the primary field leader responsible for translating project plans into successful jobsite execution while maintaining compliance with safety regulations, contract requirements, and operational standards.

Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities

Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Direct and oversee daily field operations for assigned electrical construction projects
• Lead field workforce planning, manpower coordination, and crew assignments
• Supervise Foremen and field personnel to ensure productivity, workmanship, and schedule adherence
• Coordinate project execution with Project Managers, General Contractors, owners, vendors, and subcontractors
• Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and scope requirements with field teams
• Monitor labor productivity, installed quantities, project milestones, and schedule progress
• Assist with project planning including sequencing, staffing forecasts, and site logistics coordination
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements
• Conduct field meetings, toolbox talks, and operational coordination meetings
• Support material management activities including delivery coordination, inventory monitoring, and procurement communication
• Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, constructability concerns, and workflow disruptions
• Maintain project documentation including manpower reports, daily reports, incident reporting, and progress tracking
• Coordinate inspections, testing activities, commissioning support, and turnover requirements
• Mentor Foremen and developing field leaders within the organization
• Support quality assurance and quality control initiatives across assigned work areas
• Assist leadership with project staffing recommendations and workforce development planning

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical construction methods and practices
• Understanding of NEC requirements, electrical systems installation, and construction sequencing
• Ability to lead multiple crews and maintain field productivity across active work areas
• Knowledge of scheduling, labor forecasting, manpower loading, and production tracking
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, one-line diagrams, and construction documents
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage field teams effectively
• Ability to coordinate with operations leadership, customers, and trade partners professionally
• Understanding of construction safety standards and jobsite risk management practices
• Proficiency with construction technology platforms, field reporting systems, and mobile applications
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing project conditions and operational demands

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Directly supervises Foremen, Journeymen, Apprentices, and assigned field personnel
• Provides leadership, coaching, performance feedback, and workforce direction for assigned projects
• Assists with workforce planning, hiring recommendations, disciplinary input, and performance evaluations
• Coordinates staffing and labor allocation with operations leadership

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Position Type and Expected Work Time

Work Environment:

• Work is performed primarily on active construction jobsites with frequent exposure to outdoor environments, elevated work areas, noise, dust, heat, and changing weather conditions
• Exposure to energized equipment, construction machinery, confined spaces, and industrial environments may occur
• Regular use of PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and fall protection equipment is required
• May occasionally work from office or temporary field office locations

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk large jobsites for extended periods of time
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and access elevated work areas
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in varying physical positions
• Ability to visually inspect work and operate electronic communication devices
• Ability to work extended hours as operational demands require

Position Type:

• Fulltime; Non-exempt

Typical Schedule/Shift Details:

• Primarily Monday through Friday with early morning start times typical of construction operations
• May require evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts based on project schedules and shutdown activities
• Travel between jobsites or temporary assignments may be required

Overtime Expectations:

• This position is classified as exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state laws
• Additional hours may be required based on operational demands, project schedules, outages, commissioning activities, or critical milestones

Required Education And Experience

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical training, trade school, or construction management coursework preferred

Certifications/Licenses:

• Valid driver's license required
• OSHA 30 preferred
• State electrical license preferred where applicable
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 8-10 years of electrical construction experience required
• Previous Foreman or Senior Foreman leadership experience required
• Experience leading large commercial, industrial, or mission critical projects preferred
