Superintendent – Mechanical or Plumbing

Job summary

Gallo Mechanical, LLC is seeking a qualified Superintendent to lead large commercial HVAC and plumbing projects in the Southeast region. You will review submittals, manage change orders, and oversee safety, scheduling, and field productivity to ensure on-time, under-budget delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a proven track record in managing diverse trades on sites ranging from hotels to hospitals. OSHA 10-hour certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years verifiable experience as an HVAC or Plumbing Superintendent.
• At least 5 years of experience in large commercial construction (hotels, offices, hospitals, casinos, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Review submittals for accuracy and compliancy
• Identify potential change orders
• Manage Customer relations
• Conduct weekly safety meetings
• Attend cost, job and project schedule review meetings
• Manage manpower needs
• Interpret plumbing and HVAC drawings for craft installation
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions
• Perform material take-offs, ordering tools, materials, and equipment in a timely fashion to maximize field productivity
• Coordination of installation between trades and coordinate sub-contractor progress
• Ensure all on-site employees comply with OSHA standards, MCAA work rules and Quality control guidelines.
• Schedule equipment deliveries with GC and periodic inspections by governing authorities
• Administer construction contract
• Monitor labor reporting, job cost reviews and prepare time sheets, two-week look-a-heads, daily logs, and safety audits
• Monitor project specific building information modeling, review shop drawings for accuracy and efficiency, set delivery schedules for the roll-out of shop drawings, and document any revisions to the same for as-built documents.
