Job summary

Lane Construction is seeking a Superintendent to oversee field personnel, schedules, and construction operations on heavy civil projects in the Chesapeake, VA area.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 5 years of heavy civil construction experience, with a preference for HCSS users. Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and project teams to meet safety and quality standards while maintaining budget and schedules.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience overseeing field personnel and construction operations is required.
• HCSS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and construction operations.
• Collaborates with other Superintendents and subcontractors.
• Monitors risks and status in project review meetings.
• Assists Engineers with quantities and productions.
• Establishes and promotes a safety culture.
• Ensures labor, equipment and materials are maintained and used efficiently.
• Coaches and provides on-the-job training to crews.
• Manages employees through mentoring and feedback.
• Schedules and oversees field personnel and all construction operations.
• Ensures production goals are achieved.
• Ensures adherence to Safety and Quality Standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Manages employees by mentoring, coaching, providing feedback and assessing performance.
