Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent in our Power Delivery group to coordinate, plan, and supervise superintendents, assistants, contractors, and craft activities within a discipline. Develop customer relationships by delivering excellent service and leading project teams to success.

The role offers two levels with compensation based on experience and location, and requires travel up to 100% across varied offices. Base pay is aligned with market ranges and incentives are available.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction or related field, or equivalent trade experience.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience on commercial construction projects.
• Ability to travel up to 100% and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedule.
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability; coordinate with design engineers.
• Develop and manage project schedule and site logistics; collaborate with partner superintendents.
• Supervise project partners and subcontractors; lead planning sessions and site meetings.
• Lead and track work progress; provide training to team members.
• Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and manage performance; promote safety, quality, risk controls.

Job description

Mortenson is currently seeking a Superintendent in our Power Delivery group that will be responsible for providing coordination, planning, and supervision to other superintendents/Asst Superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a particular area of discipline. Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.

This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and implement to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedule
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability, understand contract documents, coordinate plans with design engineers
• Develop and manage project schedule, site logistics plan, utilize tools and equipment, collaborate with project partner superintendents
• Supervise project partners and subcontractors, lead planning sessions and site meetings
• Ensure proper task coding, lead and track work progress, handle team member training
• Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• Lead by example, offer coaching and feedback, manage performance
• Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance, recognize and mitigate unfavorable conditions, seek process improvements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management,

OR 10+ years trade experience

• 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Commercial construction experience
• Current driver’s license
• Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
• Detail-oriented, able to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Strong experience managing multiple subcontractors and driving overall project success
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
• Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
• Effective communication and active listening skills, openness to diverse input and feedback
• Ability to travel up to 100%

Superintendent I

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience
• The base pay range for this roleis $111,400 - $167,100

Superintendent 2

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 8 years construction management or related experience
• The base pay range for this roleis $130,100 - $195,200

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
