Job summary

Feyen Zylstra is seeking a Superintendent for the Charleston, SC office to lead large commercial/industrial electrical projects. You will coordinate between field crews and the Operations team to keep projects on time, on budget, and compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing large commercial or industrial projects
• HS Diploma or GED
• Medium voltage electrical experience
• Proficiency with MS Project and MS Office products
• Knowledge of building construction methods, permits and safety procedures
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to travel regionally to project sites
• Advanced planning, scheduling, risk analysis and risk management techniques

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership liaison between field staff and Operations to ensure project execution
• Coach, mentor, and performance manage field crews while ensuring safety
• Manage cost, schedule, and quality to deliver a safe, end‑to‑end project outcome
• Collaborate on emergencies or disruptions to get the job back on track
• Apply processes and standards to mitigate problems and improve results
• Build and maintain strong relationships with GCs, subcontractors, vendors and coworkers

FZ is looking for a Superintendent for the Charleston, SC office. This role is responsible for providing a leadership liaison between the field staff and the Operations team to ensure the successful execution of the project through employee coaching and performance management as well as ensuring that the field adheres to safety principles, manages cost, meets the schedule and provides a quality end-product.

Key Qualifications:

• 5+ Years of experience required in managing large commercial or industrial projects and leading work crews
• HS Diploma or GED
• Medium voltage electrical experience required.
• Strong knowledge of Bluebeam, Accubid, and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to travel regionally to project sites as needed.
• Thorough understanding of policies, methods, and procedures that includes advanced Planning and scheduling techniques, Risk Analysis, Risk Management, and support of project objectives.
• Proficiency with MS Project and other MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of building construction methods, permit requirements, safety procedures.
• Strong communication skills – both oral and written.
• Strong mathematical skills.
