Local GC seeks a seasoned Superintendent for a new multi-story, 100,000 SF self-storage project in The Villages. A minimum of 3 years of experience in building self-storage facilities is required; candidates without this experience need not apply. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of commercial building methods and codes
• Ability to read drawings and specifications
• Attention to detail and independent problem-solving abilities
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for dealing with subcontractors, architects, and project managers
• Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well with diverse personalities
• Proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Office
• OSHA certification
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle

Responsibilities

• Review, study, and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts related to each trade involved in the project
• Establish site objectives and schedules; act as site representative and liaison with subcontractors and vendors; monitor construction activities throughout all phases
• Manage site activities including project schedule, RFIs, safety, daily reports, site conditions, quality control, and punch-out processes
• Maintain an organized job site, including the office trailer; manage subordinate staff; oversee construction quality and safety
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractors to ensure timely project completion
• Inspect work performed by each trade to ensure standards are met
