Job summary

RWE Design Build in the Chicago metro area is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead ground-up projects from our Downers Grove office to sites across the Chicagoland region.

You will manage schedules, coordinate with subcontractors, ensure safety compliance, maintain daily logs and weekly reports, and drive projects to successful, on-time completion with attention to drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ground-up commercial construction experience.
• Initial project scheduling and weekly review with stakeholders.
• Strong technical, communication and computer skills including Procore and MS Office.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and codes; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Willingness to travel locally to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with plans, specs, site, codes and inspection procedures.
• Coordinate and maintain construction schedules to meet drawings and specs.
• Ensure quality standards are met throughout the project.
• Lead meetings with subcontractors to schedule activities.
• Ensure materials are delivered on time per schedule.

• Maintain daily logs and weekly reports in Procore.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork.
• Attend job meetings and coordinating inspections as needed.
• Schedule and coordinate punch lists and project closeouts.

Job description

RWE Design Build is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead our construction projects located throughout the Chicagoland area. This position requires the candidate to lead construction efforts and monitor the progression of schedules with frequent onsite check-ins at our office in Downers Grove, IL.

Responsibilities

• Become familiar with and understand plans, specifications, site, local codes, local officials and inspection procedures
• Coordinate and maintain construction schedules to ensure projects are being completed according to drawings and specs
• Ensures quality standards are being met throughout the project
• Conduct meetings with subcontractor representatives of the project on a daily and/or weekly basis to schedule and coordinate construction activities
• Ensure materials are delivered to construction sites according to construction schedules
• Work with owners, owner's reps, architects and subcontractors to resolve any conflicts that may arise and communicate any such conflicts immediately to the Project Manager
• Create and maintain look ahead schedules for every project
• Maintain daily logs, progress photographs and weekly reports in Procore
• Complete and submit all paperwork as required
• Attend job meetings and/or any other meetings as may be required for the successful and timely completion of the project(s)
• Schedule and attend all required inspections
• Compile and schedule punch list items for completion as well as coordinate project closeouts

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial ground-up construction experience as a CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT
• MUST HAVE 5+ YEARS OF GROUND UP, COMMERCIAL EXPERIENCE
• Must currently create an initial schedule for the project and review weekly with sub-contractors, PMs, and all Stakeholders
• Must possess strong technical, communication and computer skills, including competency with Procore, MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Dropbox, and document management systems
• Knowledge of safety procedures, regulations and codes
• OSHA 30 Certified
• Local travel is required for this position
• An ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas: ground-up construction, additions, interior remodels, design build, carpentry
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
