Job summary

Roof Depot in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Traveling Commercial Roofing Superintendent to oversee roofing projects across the southeast. Expect 75% interstate travel with overnight stays; compensation scales with experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of experience in building/roofing trades.
• OSHA 10 Hour certification within first 60 days of employment.
• First Aid/CPR certification is a plus; may be required to obtain.
• Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and sites to ensure safety compliance and correct specs; provide progress reports.
• Read blueprints/specifications to plan roofing installations and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Identify potential problems and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure materials, equipment, and tools are ordered and available for each project.
• Supervise and coordinate tradespeople and laborers; communicate with foreperson and management.
• Maintain professional relationships with associates, vendors, and clients.
• Complete daily/weekly reports and update management on progress and issues.
• Work with multiple roofing systems (Shingle, Metal, Tile, and TPO).
• Communicate effectively; strong verbal and written skills.
• Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented; self-motivated; able to follow orders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually

The Traveling Commercial Roofing Superintendent will be responsible for supervising roofing projects within the southeast states. Inter-state travel is expected to be 75% of the time with multiple overnight stays. Compensation will be commensurate with knowledge, skills and experience.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure safety compliance and correct specifications are being met. Prepares and provides progress reports to management; makes recommendations for necessary modifications or issues to be addressed.
• Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures to determine the best way for installation of the roofing systems. Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.
• Must be able to identify potential problems before they arise and determine as well as implement effective solutions to those potential problems
• Must ensure that all materials, equipment, and tools are order, delivered, accounted for at each project
• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule associates and the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating to and via project foreperson
• Effectively communicate and maintain professional relationships with associates, management, vendors, and clients
• Complete daily and weekly reports; update management on project progress and issues
• Must have knowledge and experience with multiple roofing systems (Shingle, Metal, Tile, and TPO roofing systems)
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Organizational Skills, detailed-oriented, self-motivator, and can follow orders
• Computer and Digital Camera skills required (Microsoft Word and Excel skills is a plus)
• Must speak English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus)
• Must met our driver eligibility requirements (Motor Vehicle Driving Record Report will be processed)
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
• Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
• Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug test

Education and Experience

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• At least 3-4 years of experience in building/roofing trade required
• OSHA 10 Hour, and Equipment Certifications as required must be obtained within first60 days of employment
• First Aid/CPR Certification is a plus; may be required to obtain certification

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to tolerate extreme heights
• Must be able to independently set-up 32-foot ladders and climb ladders
• Must be able to climb roofs of varying pitches and heights (flat to 8/12 pitch)
• Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying and extreme climate conditions
• Must be able to tolerate loud noises
• Must be able to drive various-sized vehicles and pull trailers

Environmental/Other Requirements

• Ability to travel with overnight stays up to 75% of the time
