Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a Mid Level Field Superintendent to lead field operations for power utility construction projects, including substations and underground/overhead distribution, in Oak Brook, IL.

You will supervise crews, coordinate scheduling, manage safety programs, read blueprints, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of field experience in power utility or electrical construction.
• Experience as a Superintendent or Foreman on utility or heavy civil projects.
• Knowledge of substation construction and high-voltage systems.
• Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
• Experience managing union/multi-trade workforces preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Safety-focused with OSHA training preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for power utility construction projects, including substations, underground/overhead distribution, and electrical infrastructure
• Supervise crews, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget
• Coordinate daily jobsite activities including scheduling, material delivery, equipment usage, and workforce planning
• Enforce safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with all OSHA and company safety standards
• Review project plans, specifications, and permits to ensure accurate execution of work
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues and maintain project progress
• Maintain detailed daily reports, track production, and monitor productivity and quality of work
• Oversee quality control and ensure all installations meet required standards and specifications

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of field experience in power utility or electrical infrastructure construction
• Proven experience as a Superintendent or Foreman managing utility or heavy civil projects
• Strong knowledge of substation construction, duct banks, trenching, directional boring, or high-voltage systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Experience managing union and/or multi-trade workforces preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• OSHA certification and other relevant safety training preferred
