To support our continued growth, VMG is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects.
This position is responsible for managing daily jobsite activities from startup through closeout. The Superintendent will lead field teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage project schedules and resources, and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and according to VMG's quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader who takes ownership, communicates effectively, and understands how to balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and schedule requirements.
Oversee daily jobsite operations with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity
Lead projects from mobilization and startup through punch-list completion and closeout
Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, and sequencing
Support manpower planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
Coordinate labor, materials, tools, equipment, and site access
Represent VMG during meetings with clients, general contractors, and project partners
Identify project challenges early and implement practical solutions
Lead and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and other project personnel
Set clear expectations for safety, productivity, quality, and professional conduct
Assign work and monitor individual and crew performance
Provide coaching, direction, and constructive performance feedback
Promote a respectful, accountable, and team-oriented jobsite culture
Coordinate effectively with project managers and other internal departments
Conduct routine jobsite inspections and safety meetings
Enforce VMG safety policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific requirements
Identify, document, and address hazards, incidents, and near misses
Ensure completed work complies with project plans, specifications, codes, and quality standards
Monitor workmanship and coordinate corrections when deficiencies are identified
Maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles
Complete daily reports, timesheets, job logs, and progress updates accurately
Track labor, project costs, invoices, and subcontractor performance
Maintain organized and current project documentation
Review plans, specifications, schedules, RFIs, and change information
Communicate schedule risks, cost concerns, and resource needs promptly
Support inspections, testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities
Minimum 5 years of experience supervising commercial construction projects
HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or MEP construction experience strongly preferred
Proven ability to manage field crews, subcontractors, and daily jobsite operations
Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, sequencing, manpower planning, and cost control
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to make timely field decisions and take ownership of project outcomes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project-management tools
OSHA 30 certification preferred
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
