Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee a multi‑shift production environment, coordinating a team of supervisors to meet daily targets and exceed expectations. You will guide staff, ensure safety, maintain quality standards, and drive continuous improvement across the plant.

You will lead by example, provide training, and align operations with company policies while optimizing yields and capacity for future growth. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
• Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project, required.
• Experience using a variety of computer applications, including time‑keeping systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office programs, to streamline processes and enhance productivity across the team.
• Open to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Drive Operational Efficiency & Profitability: Monitor daily and weekly yields, efficiencies, and profitability while taking corrective action as needed; manage staffing and production schedules to meet customer needs and optimize resources.
• Champion Safety & Ergonomics: Develop and implement safety and ergonomic programs, train employees on safe work practices, identify hazards, and address ergonomic concerns to aim for an injury‑free workplace.
• Ensure Quality & Compliance: Uphold sanitation, product quality, and customer service standards to ensure USDA and company regulations compliance; reinforce standards via regular line meetings.
• Lead Training & Continuous Improvement: Train supervisors and employees on policies and procedures, conduct line meetings, and drive continuous improvement to enhance team performance and plant efficiency.
• Leadership & Guidance: Provide strong leadership on the production floor, keep teams motivated and aligned on goals, and foster a collaborative, productive environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
