Job summary

GCS-SIGAL in Washington, DC is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to oversee field operations on interior projects, ensuring safety, on-time scheduling, budget control and client satisfaction.

The role requires 5–10 years of interior project experience, a BS/MS in Engineering or Construction Management, and the ability to lead teams, coordinate logistics, read contract documents, and maintain comprehensive documentation via Procore.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience on $5+ million interior projects in a superintendent role, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to succeed as a Superintendent.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

Superintendents at GCS-SIGAL are responsible for the overall field work on our projects, ensuring that company policies and procedures are met regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Superintendent typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Actively maintain a safe work environment and enforce quality control policies
• Creatively solve challenges that arise on projects with a positive attitude
• Communicate clearly and effectively to clients and subcontractors on the status of the project
• Plan, coordinate, and manage job site logistics
• Maintain a clear understanding of how daily operations affect project milestones
• Thorough understanding of contract documents
• Conduct weekly contractor meetings
• Maintain daily reports and documentation using Procore
• Create, manage, and update the project schedule
• Create and implement contingency plans as necessary
• Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to project stakeholders
• Oversee project quality plan
• Resolve jurisdictional disputes

Experience/Education

• BS or MS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 5-10 years of experience on $5+ million interior projects in a superintendent role, or
• A combination of education and experience sufficient to succeed as a Superintendent
