Bonus: $18,000 - $20,000
Our client is a growing general contractor built by an owner with 25+ years of commercial construction experience in the Tampa Bay market. After years of running major projects we're now building out our field leadership team and looking for experienced Superintendents to run projects across the Tampa Bay area.
About the Role
The Superintendent is the on-site leader responsible for the day-to-day execution of commercial construction projects — safety, schedule, quality, and coordination of all trades from mobilization through closeout. This role reports directly to the Project Manager/ownership and is a key hire as we scale project volume.
What You'll Do
- Manage all on-site construction activities for commercial projects (retail, office, light industrial, tenant improvement, and similar project types) from preconstruction through closeout.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce the project schedule; proactively identify and resolve delays.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, self-perform crews, and material/equipment deliveries.
- Enforce jobsite safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily jobsite walks, maintain daily logs, and report progress to the Project Manager.
- Ensure work is installed per plans, specifications, and quality standards; manage punch list through completion.
- Lead weekly subcontractor and OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings as needed.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and coordination with the project management team.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with owners, architects, inspectors, and trade partners.
What We're Looking For
- 5–10+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
- Proven track record running projects in the Tampa Bay / West Central Florida market.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial building systems, means and methods, and Florida Building Code.
- Experience managing subcontractors and self-perform crews on projects generally ranging from $1M–$15M in value.
- OSHA 30 certification (required); OSHA 10 minimum to start, with 30 required.
- Working knowledge of scheduling software (Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills — able to run a jobsite and manage people, not just tasks.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsites throughout the Tampa Bay area.
- A self-starter mentality — comfortable being an early, hands-on member of a growing team.
- We offer a competitive salary of around $95,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including a vehicle allowance/company truck, health insurance, and performance/project-based bonus.
Location
Tampa, FL — with travel to jobsites throughout the Tampa Bay region (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco counties).
