About the Role

RDL Construction Inc is looking for an experienced and driven Superintendent to lead field operations on exciting construction projects in San Jose, CA. This is an opportunity to take ownership of project execution, lead skilled crews, and deliver outstanding results with a company that values quality craftsmanship and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and labor crews to maintain efficient daily field operations
• Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety protocols
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure accurate project execution
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks throughout all phases of construction
• Communicate project progress, issues, and updates to project managers and stakeholders
• Resolve on-site conflicts, delays, and technical challenges in a timely and effective manner
• Conduct project job walks
• Prepare logistics plan and construction approaches
• Participate in the General Contractor proposal and interview process
• Establish Site Safety Plans
• Maintain a safe and efficient working environment for subs and the construction team
• Monitor and prepare safety reports
• Provide site supervision and direction to extended construction and subcontractor team
• Identify, track and manage subcontractors’ scopes
• Allocate manpower and resources as required to meet schedule
• Interface with Building Inspectors
• Identify potential project impacts and propose solutions
• Prepare 3‑week rolling schedules
• Conduct weekly Subcontractor Meetings
• Attend and contribute to weekly OAC meetings
• Utilize construction background to identify field issues and suggest potential alternates
• Review subcontractor and vendor drawings and submittals for adherence to plans and specs
• Prepare, monitor, and update Master Schedule

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar field leadership role
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously
• OSHA 30 certification (required)
• CPR and First Aid training (required)
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Understanding of construction practices and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Project and scheduling
• Procore experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of Building Management Systems: security, fire alarm, FM‑200, sprinkler riser location, mechanical systems, electrical systems, data centers, and server rooms
• Flexible with ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently
• Self‑starter, able to operate in a fast‑paced work environment with minimal direction
• Ability to work nights/weekends
