Align Builders is a San Diego-based contractor seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations, manage schedules, safety, and quality on complex projects. The role requires strong communication, accountability, and mentorship to teams and trade partners.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years as a commercial superintendent, experience in healthcare or life sciences settings, and proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office. Onsite work with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent.
• Experience in Health Care (OSHPD), Life Sciences, Higher Education, and Office Improvements preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, and scheduling software.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage clients and trade contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the field and establish on-site performance standards and culture.
• Own jobsite operations: schedule, safety, quality, and production.
• Organize and resolve critical issues daily through clear communication.
• Create construction schedules and monitor logic relationships and impacts.
• Lead coordination meetings and resolve conflicts to protect schedule and budget.
• Anticipate risks and implement solutions to maintain schedule, quality and budget.
• Maintain detailed daily and photo logs of activities.
• Manage jobsite safety program and enforce rules.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Coordinate logistics and maintain relationships with neighbors.
• Coordinate and manage inspections for occupancy milestones.

Essential Functions And Abilities Required

• Lead the field and establish the standard of performance, accountability, and culture on-site
• Take full ownership of jobsite operations including schedule, safety, quality, and production
• Organize and solve critical issues and tasks daily through clear communication
• Create construction schedules, perform regular updates, monitor logic relationships, and insert new activities and impacts
• Lead effective coordination meetings and proactively resolve conflicts before they impact schedule or budget
• Anticipate project risks and proactively implement solutions to maintain schedule, quality and budget
• Maintain detailed daily logs and photo logs of all project activities
• Manage the job site safety program and keep all project participants accountable to rules/regulation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Coordinate a jobsite logistics and maintain relationship with neighboring occupants
• Coordinate and manage inspections required by jurisdictional authority to achieve project occupancy milestones
• Deliver projects with a high standard of quality

Knowledge And Skills

• Building Fundamentals - has experience in commercial construction means and methods. Possesses strong construction knowledge and plan reading abilities
• Planning & Scheduling - able to sequence and coordinate work to achieve project milestones
• Quality Control - thorough understanding of plans, specifications, and code to ensure high quality results
• Safety - is competent and knowledgeable of all major construction hazards through past training and experience. Has the ability to effectively identify hazardous conditions and unsafe acts or practices. Can implement effective solutions to remedy construction hazards and lead a strong culture of safety on a jobsite

Education / Experience Required

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent
• Experience should be in Commercial Construction, preferably in Health Care (OSHPD), Life Sciences, Higher Education, and Office Improvements
• Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, PM Software (Procore), and scheduling software (Microsoft Project).
• Interpersonal Skills - ability to engage with clients, internal team members, and trade contractors in a constructive, productive way to overcome obstacles and achieve results

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $100,000 – $180,000 per year.
