Job summary

CBRE Government & Defense Services is seeking a qualified Project Manager to perform remedial tasks, read construction drawings, and direct subcontractors on complex projects. The role involves planning, budgeting, and administrative tasks to ensure contract compliance and successful project outcomes.

The position requires an Associate's degree, several years of project management experience, and familiarity with government regulations such as the Davis‑Bacon Act.

  • Assist on development of agendas for pre- and post-job conferences.
  • Prepare worksheets for cost accounting by analyzing blueprints, plans, and customer documents.

Job description

Primary Job Functions
  • The ability to perform remedial tasks using basic computer software such as scheduling, updating reports, and email.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings to direct subcontractors to execute work.
  • Perform difficult and challenging construction and project management functions including planning, directing, and budgeting for assigned projects.
  • Handle construction and project management administration functions, manage a variety of actions and problems related to assigned projects, report project fund status, review billing procedures, and handle contractual requirement submittals.
  • Assist with project design plan review to accomplish contractual objectives and provide direction and support to subcontractors, support staff, trades, and crafts.
  • Monitor requirements necessary to obtain progress payments, quantity options, government‑furnished property, etc., and/or administer specific phases of complex contracts.
  • Assist on the development of agendas for both pre‑ and post‑job conferences.
  • Perform desktop publishing; create and assist in the development of visual presentations for the section.
  • Prepare worksheets for cost accounting by analyzing blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consult with engineering staff and other technical personnel as required.
  • Assist the Project Manager with budgets for assigned projects.
  • Stay current on government regulations and commercial trends; monitor project compliance to ensure compliance with Service Contract Act, Davis‑Bacon Act, and other federal regulations.
  • Maintain customer relations through face‑to‑face and digital communication; professional appearance desirable.
  • Schedule work to be performed and overall project completion time based on project plan; communicate with the customer regarding any deviations from the schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with U.S. Corps of Engineers, government contracting, general construction
  • Experience in healthcare facilities
License/Certification
  • Certification: ASHE HCC
  • Must pass Corps of Engineers CQM class for contractors

  • The role plays a part in the financial management of a task order budget and its corresponding parts. The role must assist in ensuring the partnering subcontractors perform all contractual responsibilities within or under budget based on firm‑fixed contract pricing. Actions performed by this role definitively impact the revenue of the duration of the task order.
