Job summary

MEB seeks an experienced Superintendent to coordinate on-site activities across the Mid-Atlantic region. You will be the project face, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality while prioritizing safety and communication with owners, project teams, and field personnel.

Ideal candidates bring prior superintendent experience, strong leadership, and a proven ability to manage complex piping, concrete, and sitework projects while adhering to local safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction sites.
  • Technical knowledge of aboveground/underground piping systems, concrete, sitework, and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and site coordination.

  • Set performance goals and deadlines for site activities.
  • Estimate costs and monitor the project budget.
  • Supervise staff and provide performance feedback.

Job description

Our team is looking for an experienced Superintendent to coordinate and manage on-site activities of our construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. As the “Face” of MEB on the project site, you will ensure delivery of successful projects to owners, in the safest manner possible, on time and on budget with the desired level of quality. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with various project stakeholders, including Project Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Foreman, and Field Personnel. To succeed, you must ensure MEB’s core values are being lived on the project every day and that quality, health, and safety standards onsite are your top priority.

Core Areas of Responsibility.
  • Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs
  • Set performance goals and deadlines
  • Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget
  • Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback
  • Monitor and report on project progress
  • Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
  • Implement safety and quality guidelines
  • Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance
  • Keep track of material stock and orders
  • Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
  • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
  • Ensure the overall safe production of the jobsite for MEB employees, subcontract personnel, visitors and the public as well as identify and/or correct non-compliant safety, health or environmental requirements, conditions, or behaviors.
  • Previous experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role
  • Technical knowledge associated with aboveground and underground piping systems, cast-in-place concrete, process/industrial equipment, sitework, and other miscellaneous building features.
  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire
