Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on-site jobsite operations, uphold safety and quality standards, and drive projects to successful completion in the Metro DC Area.

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience supervising commercial construction (HVAC/Plumbing/MEP preferred), with strong scheduling, budgeting, and leadership skills, plus the ability to read plans and coordinate with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supervising commercial construction projects (HVAC, Plumbing, or MEP strongly preferred).
• Proven ability to manage crews and jobsite operations.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, sequencing, and cost control.
• OSHA 30 preferred (or a demonstrated commitment to safety).
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily jobsite operations with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity
• Develop and maintain project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines
• Support manpower planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Lead projects from startup through closeout, including sequencing and coordination
• Represent VMG in meetings with clients, general contractors, and project partners
• Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and enforce policies
• Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, and company vehicles
• Complete daily reports, time sheets, and job logs accurately
• Track costs, invoices, and subcontractor work
• Maintain organized project documentation and schedules
• Lead and coordinate field crews and subcontractors
• Set clear expectations and provide coaching and performance feedback
• Foster a respectful, team-oriented culture built on accountability

Project Leadership

• Oversee daily jobsite operations with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity

What You Bring
