Job summary

ACCIONA seeks an experienced Superintendent to oversee all on-site activities for a Louisiana bridge construction project. You will coordinate subcontractors, supervise field teams, manage safety, and ensure work is completed on time and within budget.

The role requires leading multi-discipline crews, reviewing designs, controlling costs, and driving project success through proactive problem-solving and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in concrete, bridges, structures, and roads; proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams on heavy-civil projects.
• A valid and current driver’s license is required.
• High school diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule work and review progress by each craft.
• Coordinate with field supervision and subcontractors to plan construction schedules.
• Perform quantity take-off and cost reporting for civil activities.
• Prepare cost estimates and support progress forecasting.
• Supervise tool and equipment usage and field material requisitions.

The Superintendent is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by overseeing and managing all on‑site activities during construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The role coordinates subcontractors, monitors progress, maintains safety standards, and resolves any issues that arise on the job site, acting as the primary point of contact on the construction site to ensure smooth operation and project success.

Job Responsibilities

1. Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
2. Coordinates with Field Supervision and Subcontractors to plan and support construction schedules.
3. Is responsible for quantity take‑off (with Field Engineering), quantity control, tracking, reporting, and forecasting for civil discipline.
4. Prepares cost estimates for civil construction activities and supports the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and progress reports.
5. Oversees tool and equipment usage on the project site.
6. Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools, consumables, equipment, and equipment servicing to ensure that the craft professionals have the necessary tools.
7. Ensures the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
8. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance comply with specifications, schedules, and budgets.
9. Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
10. Coordinates subcontract activities to ensure civil materials, equipment, and quality comply with design plans and specifications.
11. Hire, motivate, and lead a high‑performing team through coaching, talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
12. Supervises the team, including training, providing work direction, problem‑solving assistance, reviewing performance, and recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
13. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies
