Job summary

Martin Concrete Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to own field operations, drive safety, production and quality, and lead crews on major concrete projects.

You will work with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, and customers to plan ahead, resolve issues, and deliver on schedule with strong leadership in fast‑paced environments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Concrete Superintendent on commercial/industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete construction, means, methods, sequencing.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings and specs.
  • Experience leading field personnel and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers, employees, subcontractors, vendors.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, nights or adjusted schedules.

At Martin Concrete Construction, our Superintendents are at the center of how our projects get built. They lead our crews, drive production, uphold our safety and quality standards, and build strong relationships with the customers and teams we work alongside every day.

We’re currently looking for an experienced Superintendent who takes ownership of the work, leads confidently in the field, and knows how to keep complex concrete projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This role is built for a hands‑on leader who canplan ahead, solve problems, develop people, and make sound decisions in fast‑paced construction environments. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, and customers to coordinate resources, manage day‑to‑day operations, and deliver high-quality concrete construction from start to finish.

What You’ll Do
  • Direct and manage all field operations, with overall responsibility for safety, production, and quality.
  • Uphold and champion the highest safety standards for your team and any subcontractors on‑site, creating a culture where safety is paramount.
  • Serve as a key point of contact with client representatives, discussing project status, resolving issues, and ensuring clear communication.
  • Supervise all field personnel, providing leadership and training to develop a highly skilled workforce.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop project plans, manage budgets, and update schedules to meet key milestones.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, order necessary materials and tools, and ensure project specifications are met.
  • Maintain essential field documentation, including daily reports, time recording, and safety inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with other superintendents and internal teams to coordinate resources and project needs.

  • Can effectively delegate responsibilities while maintaining accountability for overall field performance.
  • Is organized and capable of coordinating multiple priorities, resources, and project demands.
  • Leads by example and takes pride in developing strong, high‑performing field teams.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Concrete Superintendent supporting commercial, industrial, tilt‑up, multi‑story, or similar concrete construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of concrete construction and field operations.
  • Proven ability to read, interpret, and work from construction drawings and project specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience leading field personnel and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Strong communication, leadership, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, employees, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ability and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, nights, or adjusted schedules based on project demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA certification.
  • TCA or ACI certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
  • Experience leading large‑scale or complex concrete construction projects.
Work Location & Travel Requirements

This is an onsite, field‑based position requiring regular presence at active construction projects.

  • Ability and willingness to travel based on project assignments and business needs.
  • Ability to report directly to assigned project sites.
  • Flexibility with work hours and schedules based on project requirements.
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments and maintaining a visible leadership presence in the field.
Physical & Field Requirements

This is an active field leadership position requiring regular movement throughout construction jobsites. The role may include:

  • Walking and standing for extended periods.
  • Navigating active construction sites and uneven terrain.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders and accessing elevated work areas.
  • Bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching as needed.
  • Working in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Wearing required PPE while onsite.
  • Lifting and carrying materials, tools, or equipment as required by field conditions.
