Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and establish positive morale on the project.
• Understand owner contracts and project drawings; assist PM with on-site procedures.
• Review drawings for design deficiencies and code issues; escalate to PM.
• Communicate issues and progress daily to the Project Manager.
• Report problems promptly to PM/Project Exec for cost-effective solutions.
• Foster relationships with clients and Bluewater team.
• Seek advice from PM/Project Exec on materials, sequencing, scheduling, and staffing.

Position Overview

The Superintendent plays a key role in the success of our projects by providing on-site leadership and direction to ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications. This position requires strong leadership, clear communication, and a dedication to maintaining Bluewater’s high standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with the on-site staff, and promote a positive project morale.


• Have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the owner contract, subcontracts, contract drawings, specifications and addenda, and to assist the Project Manager in the development of the on-site procedures.


• Examine the contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations, and to bring these to the attention of the Project Manager.


• Communicate issues, events, performance and progress daily to the Project Manager.


• Report on any problems promptly to the Project Manager/Project Executive to facilitate the most cost-effective solutions.


• Establish effective working relationships with clients and Bluewater team members.


• Request advice and assistance from the Project Manager/Project Executive on matters pertaining to materials, sequencing, scheduling and personnel.
