Job summary

VanKirk Electric is seeking a Superintendent to lead electrical construction projects from start to finish on multi-family builds. You will review plans, manage schedules, and ensure adherence to safety policies and OSHA requirements. This role reports to the Project Manager and Sr. Project Manager.

Responsibilities include coordinating inspections, material requests, site meetings, and maintaining daily logs while upholding high quality and safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction industry experience.
• Ability to review and understand electrical drawings.
• Working knowledge of the NEC.
• College diploma/degree in construction management or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review scope, plans, and layouts provided by the Project Manager.
• Review project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, contract scope, and performance standard.
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress.
• Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
• Attend weekly jobsite coordination meetings with General Contractor.
• Generate weekly and monthly material requests.
• Perform quality control for work being performed.
• Communicate with Project Manager regarding ASI’s, RFI’s and Materials.
• Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate to Project Manager/Regional Team for resolution.
• Maintain Daily log of activities on the jobsite.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment.

The Superintendent oversees all aspects of assigned project from commencement to completion. They manage projects in accordance to the Superintendent Milestone program in a manner that exceeds our customer’s expectations and ensures that our work adheres to all company policies, safety policies and OSHA mandated requirements. This position reports to the Project Manager and Sr. Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Review scope, plans, and layouts provided by the Project Manager
• Review project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, contract scope, and performance standard
• Follow Project Manager’s Pre-Con documentation, proposals, and plans process
• The Superintendent will maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes
• Generate weekly and monthly material requests
• Attend weekly jobsite coordination meetings with General Contractor
• Perform quality control for work being performed
• Communicate with Project Manager regarding ASI’s, RFI’s and Materials
