Job summary

VanKirk Electric is seeking a Superintendent to oversee construction projects from start to finish on-site. The role involves coordinating with the Project Manager, reviewing plans and specifications, and maintaining schedules and safety across multi-family construction sites.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction, can read electrical drawings, and applies NEC standards to daily operations. Pre-employment screening is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ Years Construction Industry experience.
• Ability to review and understand Electrical drawings.
• Working knowledge of the NEC.

Responsibilities

• Review scope, plans, and layouts provided by the Project Manager.
• Review project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, contract scope, and performance standard.
• Follow Project Manager’s Pre-Con documentation, proposals, and plans process.
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress.
• Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
• Maintain Daily log of activities on the jobsite.
• Ensure safety and compliant site operations.

Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually

VanKirk Electric is a leading national electrical sub-contractor that specializes in all phases of multi-family construction across the United States.

The Superintendent oversees all aspects of assigned project from commencement to completion. They manage projects in accordance to the Superintendent Milestone program in a manner that exceeds our customer’s expectations and ensures that our work adheres to all company policies, safety policies and OSHA mandated requirements. This position reports to the Project Manager and Sr. Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Review scope, plans, and layouts provided by the Project Manager
• Review project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, contract scope, and performance standard
• Follow Project Manager’s Pre-Con documentation, proposals, and plans process
• The Superintendent will maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes
• Generate weekly and monthly material requests
• Attend weekly jobsite coordination meetings with General Contractor
• Perform quality control for work being performed
• Communicate with Project Manager regarding ASI’s, RFI’s and Materials
• Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions
• Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate to Project Manager/Regional Team for resolution
• Maintain Daily log of activities on the jobsite
• Maintains safe and clean working environment

Knowledge and Experience

• 5+ Years Construction Industry experience
• Ability to review and understand Electrical drawings
• Working knowledge of the N.E.C.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment

Requirements

• College Diploma/Degree, construction management or related field a plus
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening
