Job summary

MYR Group, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to oversee day-to-day line crew operations, ensure quality work and materials, and monitor budget adherence.

The role requires directing field teams, coordinating equipment and materials, and driving procedures that meet safety and project standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in transmission and distribution construction, a Journeyman certificate or equivalent, and a relevant degree or combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in transmission and distribution line construction.
  • Experience managing field crews of 25+ personnel.
  • Experience with OSHA 20 CFR transmission and distribution compliance.
  • Journeyman certification or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field; combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • QA/QC management and oversight of line crew operations.
  • Equipment review and scheduling; ensure efficient use of materials and equipment.
  • Develop and implement project procedures and safety programs.
  • Train and develop field crews; ensure compliance with procedures and safety standards.
  • Document violations and implement corrective actions as required.
  • On-site orientation and training for field personnel, with regular attendance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Superintendent is responsible for day-to-day oversight of line crew operations, ensures that the quality of work and materials is upheld, and that the budget is followed as planned.

Essential Functions
  • QA/QC Management
  • Equipment review and scheduling
  • Develop and implement project procedures
  • Responsible for overall efficient use of materials and equipment
  • Responsible for the training and development of field crews, foremen, and general foremen
  • Ensure that on-site personnel comply with project procedures as well as safety program requirements and construction practices
  • Document procedural violations, provide appropriate notification, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required
  • New hire orientation and training for field personnel
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable.

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in the construction of transmission and distribution lines field
  • Experience with managing field crews of 25+
  • Experience with OSHA 20 CFR transmission and distribution compliance
  • Journeyman certification or equivalent
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A good work ethic with strong integrity and values
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and JD Edwards
  • CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10 & 20 Hour certified

  • Salary
    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
