Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician II to join our central sterile team in Houston. This role covers decontamination, assembly, sterilization, storage and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment in a high-volume setting.

The technician supports customer needs and adheres to strict standards of quality and safety. Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, CS tech course or equivalent, and one year of central sterile processing experience;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Central Service Technology Course or equivalent work experience.
• CRCST, CSPDT, CBSPD or CRM certification preferred or must be obtained within 1 year.
• Minimum 1 year of central sterile processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, store and distribute surgical instruments and supplies.
• Handle equipment according to established standards and guidelines.
• Support in indirect patient care and respond to customer/provider requests.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, gauges and related devices.

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician II is a certified technician whose areas of responsibilities covers decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established standards/guidelines. The SP Tech II demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness when working in an in-direct patient care department and addressing the request of the customer or provider.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

AND

Central Service Technology Course/Or Equivalent Work Experience (at least one year experience in central sterile processing)

Hold one of the following certifications or obtain within one year of hire:

CRCST, CSPDT, CBSPD or CRM

One (1) Year Of Central Sterile Processing Experience Required.

Special Requirements

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact), Bilingual skills preferred, Writing/Reports (Legible handwriting and coherent writing)

Other Skills: Medical Terms (Surgical/ Medical Terminology Knowledge, Critical Thinking, Multi-task in a fast paced environment, Ability to lead projects ,Monitor and interpret results of gauges & Research surgical instruments and supply companies), PC (Skills must be appropriate to meet the job requirements)
