Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following functions, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  1. Builds and assembles machines or mechanical components according to requirements on vehicles.
  2. Inspects machines, engines, transmissions, and runs diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
  3. Conducts repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
  4. Troubleshoots reported problems and resolves them in a timely manner.
  5. Performs thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
  6. Replenishes fluids and components of engines and machinery.
  7. Provides consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.
  8. Undertakes other duties as assigned (e.g., repair of hydraulic systems, painting, etc.).
  9. Keeps logs of work and reports on issues.
  10. Able to multi-task and work on projects as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical certification preferred.
  • General mechanical knowledge is required.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical service manuals and other related materials.
  • On-the-job training will be provided for forklift operation, Hazmat awareness, and other safety-related training.
  • Associates assigned to refrigeration systems repair will be required to obtain certification in that area.
