In addition, our seasonal Summit Site Supervisor can enroll in our Pro Deal Discount program and receive an hourly health and welfare benefit of $4.22/hour for the first 40 hours worked each week. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SUMMIT SITE SUPERVISOR

As a Summit Site Supervisor, you are invaluable to our operations. Your day begins even before you arrive at Summit Station because travel from Colorado to Greenland can often be dicey. Once you safely arrive, you are briefed by the outgoing Summit Site Supervisor, and then you get to work. Each day, you ensure that our operations run smoothly by coordinating the efforts of all the teams we have on-site. You oversee the logistics of the activities each team has planned that day and make sure that the researchers' needs are supported in every way.

As the senior on-site point of contact, all decisions regarding safety pass through you. You also maintain the inventory, ensuring that each team has the supplies they need and that the kitchen has plenty of food. Documentation is another of your crucial duties, so you stay on top of the station logs. Each week, you submit a report to the station manager, and you keep other off-site management in the loop as well.

Although paper is important, people are your biggest priority. Your friendly demeanor is a benefit as you oversee training, scheduling, evaluations, and sometimes conflict resolution. Life in a remote place is not easy, and the Arctic conditions increase the difficulty, which is why you are patient with those who struggle. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SUMMIT SITE SUPERVISOR

• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Ability to perform conflict resolution, solve logistics problems, and manage challenging operations
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including working in a cold environment, living in 24-hour periods of light or darkness, shoveling snow, lifting up to 50 pounds, and wearing a respirator

Leadership experience in a remote location is preferred. The following credentials would also be beneficial: certification in hazardous materials shipment, wilderness first responder certification, weather observer experience, familiarity with aviation, and experience working in an Arctic environment.

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A SUMMIT SITE SUPERVISOR

This is a seasonal position and is worked on location in the Arctic at Summit Station, Greenland. Arctic seasons run from approximately February to May, May to Julyand from October to February.The daily schedule varies but typically consists of 9-hour days, 6 days per week. This seasonal position may also work varied schedules of up to 12+ hours per day, including split-shift, part-time, early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
