Job summary

Timberline Lodge in Government Camp, Oregon, seeks a Summit Pass cashier to greet guests, take payments, clear tables, restock, and provide outstanding guest service during the ski season.

This role requires cash handling accuracy, knowledge of menu and banquet offerings, up-selling skills, and adherence to service procedures, OLCC liquor regulations, and health and safety guidelines. Flexibility for varying meal periods and events is a plus.

This position starts once the snow flies and the ski area is open!

Timberline's Summit Pass (formerly known as Summit Ski Area) is officially part of the Timberline ski area as of 2021, increasing Timberline's vertical terrain to 4,540 feet, the longest in the United States. Located in Government Camp, Oregon, the Summit Pass Lodge and base area offer affordable access to its beginner ski and snowboard terrain, as well as lessons, rentals, a restaurant and snow tubing area.

The Summit Pass cashier will greet guests, take payment, clear tables, re-stock, side work, and provide outstanding guest service.

Requirements

• Greet guests, take payment.
• Fill food and beverage orders.
• Clear tables as required, maintain clean and stocked condiment counter, re-stock all items necessary and side work.
• Deliver loaded food trays as required.
• Proper delivery of soiled dishes and linens to kitchen.
• Set up and tear down of all meal periods and events as needed.
• Accurate cash handling and balancing of cash drawer.
• Pick up and drop off banks.
• Efficiently set up and gather linens and tableware.
• Check supplies and food products needed for shift.
• Brew coffee in proper amount.
• Restock ice, drinks, condiments, napkins, silverware throughout the day
• At breakdown, return linens and usable food and beverages to appropriate storage location.
• Clean all equipment daily.
• Empty all trash cans.
• Break down and clean cashier station, properly store supplies.
• Assist in cleanup of function room including but not limited to removal of glassware, trays.
• Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming.
• Be familiar with mountain operations and events.
• Be familiar with all Timberline food outlets.
• Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace
• Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
• Present a professional, quality image at all times.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be service-oriented.
• Must be detail-oriented with ability to set and meet high customer service standards.
• Must use proper etiquette while conversing with guests and fellow workers.
• Must have detailed knowledge of menu and banquet offerings.
• Must be proficient in up-selling of products and services.
• Must know and follow all proper service procedures.
• Must have valid Oregon Food Handlers permit.
• Must have a valid OLCC required for alcohol service.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be flexible and capable of bending, twisting and kneeling.
• Must be able to work in tight space with balance and poise.
• Must be able to work on feet, stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
• Must be able to keep up with the pace of the department demands of the position.
