Job summary

WMATA is seeking a summer intern to join the Safety Data Analytics team. You will gain hands-on experience transforming real-world safety data into meaningful insights that support safer operations for employees and customers across the Metro system.

You’ll work with safety and analytics professionals, develop practical data analysis and visualization skills, and see how data drives decisions at one of the nation’s largest transit agencies.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, reviews and analyzes data. Operates a PC to input and correct data for reports.
• Researches data for and assists in preparing management, operations, technical and admin reports.
• Produces visuals and data representations for department deliverables.
• Reviews reports to identify problems and suggests solutions when guided.
• Participates in training and meetings to learn transit functions.
• Supports departmental meetings and collaborative work sessions.
