Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is offering an introductory, preparatory, and training internship for college and graduate students. Interns will rotate across departments such as Bus/Rail Operations, Safety, IT, Engineering, and Planning, for up to 13 weeks during the summer.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent; attending an accredited college/university pursuing a degree relevant to the position.
• Intern must have completed freshman year and be entering sophomore year.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 required.
• Progressive internships may require a favorable prior summer evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data compilation, review and analysis; input and verify data for reports.
• Aid in preparation of management, operations, technical and administrative reports.
• Produce work products such as presentations, reports and data visuals for the department.
• Attend trainings and department meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
