Job summary

Voith US Inc. in Appleton, Wisconsin, is seeking a Summer Tax Intern to support the Tax Department with tax compliance, accounting, and administrative tasks to gain practical experience in corporate taxation.

As an intern you will assist with tax return preparation, data collection, and research, work on tax provision processes, and participate in process improvements alongside experienced tax professionals.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Completion of introductory accounting coursework required.
• Completion of corporate or individual taxation coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of sales and use tax, property tax, and Canadian GST/QST filings.
• Support the preparation of the US federal, state, and local income tax returns and workpapers.
• Gather and organize financial data used in tax compliance and tax provision processes.
• Assist with maintaining tax records, supporting schedules, and electronic filing documentation.
• Perform basic tax research using internal and external resources.
• Assist with fixed asset tax depreciation schedules and related reconciliations.
• Support tax account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Participate in tax process improvement and automation initiatives.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the Tax Manager and/or Tax Director.
• Work collaboratively with Accounting Finance, and other departments.
