Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead, organize and manage RWC worship program and campfires.

Position Objective:The RWC Worship Leader / Trading Post Operator is responsible to lead, encourage, a love and appreciation of worship through music among staff and campers to nurture an environment of spiritual growth through guided worship. They also work at the trading post during operating hours, doing all this in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.General Qualifications:The Redwood Camp (“RWC”) Worship Leader / Trading Post Operator is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs and retreats. All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.Key Job Accountabilities:Lead, organize and manage RWC worship program and campfires in collaboration with the RWC Program Lead.Teach a variety of songs and accompanying hand motions/dancing to both staff and campers to promote enthusiasm for worship.Inventory and care for all sound and video equipment as well as set up and tear down as needed.Prepare all slides for worship sets.Work at the Trading post when not performing worship duties.Stock the trading post and run the trading post during operating hoursPerform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneEducation/Certifications/Licenses:High School graduate; some college experience preferred.Must be CPR and First Aid certified.Work Experience:Prior experience with leading worship preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to play guitar, and able to lead students in musical worship in a relevant and interactive manner.Love for youth of all ages is essential; capable of providing strong Christian role model.Must be passionate for worship and leading primary youth in group singing.Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.Ability to teach with patience and clear instruction.Self-Starter and creative.Ability to manage sales and inventoryPhysical Demands:The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
