Description

Position Objective: The Family Camp College Lead works with the Family Ministries Program Manager to lead and oversee the programming for the Family Camp College program in order to lead college-age adults one step closer to Jesus in a manner consistent with Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, and values.

General Qualifications: The Family Camp College Lead is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships, and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating, and leading Mount Hermon’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  1. Work as a team with the Family Ministries Program Manager to explore, create, and coordinate program development and implementation for college age adults in attendance at Family Camp.
  2. Organize and coordinate with necessary departments; set and distribute schedules to the necessary parties.
  3. Provide financial oversight including budget and purchasing.
  4. Develop appropriate relationships with college age adults that will promote and encourage spiritual growth in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
  5. Implement and document program inventory and evaluation.
  6. Participate in bonus jobs with other departments on the mountain.
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  1. College graduate.
  2. Must be CPR/First Aid certified.
  3. Must be 21 years of age or older with a clean driving record due to MH driver policy.

Work Experience:

  1. Experience working with college age students in ministry settings.
  2. Must have experience in leadership roles (while working with college age students and young adults).
  3. Prior camp counseling experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Must possess leadership skills and emotional and spiritual maturity.
  2. Ability to articulate the Gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
  3. Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.
  4. Must be creative and detail oriented, with the ability to follow through with projects.
  5. Must be flexible with an ability to adjust and problem solve in challenging situations.
  6. Ability to engage in active listening.
  7. Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.
  8. A heart to serve whenever needed.
  9. Ability to lead and teach with patience and clear instruction.
  10. Ability to engage with Young Adults and invite them into the program.

Physical Demands: The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires seeing, hearing, talking, sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and hiking.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living.
  2. Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, values, and commitment statements.
  3. Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  4. Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
