Job summary

Medtronic offers a Summer 2027 Software Engineering internship program with full-time hours (40/week) for 10–11 weeks. Interns work across software development, AI/data science, cloud, quality, DevOps, and firmware engineering on real projects, with housing relocation support for eligible interns.

Positions are based in the U.S. with onsite work commitments; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and be pursuing a relevant degree.

Qualifications

• Working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering major with an anticipated graduation date Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, or Spring 2029.
• Ability to participate full time, 40 hours per week, as part of the intern cohort from June 1-August 13 for semester system programs or June 14-August 20 for quarter system programs.
• Applicants for Medtronic’s Summer Internship Program must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Work across software development, AI/data science, cloud, quality, DevOps, systems, testing, and firmware engineering.
• Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and implements operating system components, software tools, and utilities.
• Supports development and execution of cloud strategy, including design, planning, integration, maintenance, and support of cloud architecture.
• Develops and maintains software quality processes; evaluates activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification, and validation.
• Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms including operating systems, cloud-based tools, and Internet-related tools.
• Tests the functionality and performance of software applications or systems software.
