Charter Manufacturing is seeking a Smart Manufacturing Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Saukville, WI and Mequon, WI. This full-time summer internship offers hands-on experience in AI-driven safety and robotics within a multi-site manufacturing setting.

You will collaborate across teams to identify process improvements, support digital transformation initiatives, and document engineering practices. GPA 2.75+, Sophomore status, and MS Office proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Automation, or Manufacturing Engineering with Sophomore status.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist with expansion of AI vision safety systems.
• Support engineering practices for plant robotics.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
• Assist and/or lead Digital Transformation projects supporting multiple business facets.
• Document and improve processes.
