Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is offering a Summer Research Program Intern position in the Communications Networks & Analysis Group in Lexington, MA. You will assist in designing, implementing, and testing new protocols across protocol stack layers, under a mentor’s guidance, focusing on wireless networks and performance analysis.

The role emphasizes R&D in physical and MAC layer algorithms, data collection from emulation models, and exposure to national security challenges with ongoing professional

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages such as C/C++, Java, Python.
  • Experience with MATLAB preferred; Linux familiarity.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring, analysis, and test tools such as Wireshark, iPerf is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development and performance analysis of algorithms and protocols for wireless networks.
  • Design, implement and test protocols at multiple layers in the protocol stack under mentorship.
  • Characterize performance of physical- and link-layer wireless emulation techniques and collect performance data.
